is seeking to hire a Laboratory Manager for our client in Athens, GA!
Pay rate: 28.00
Hours 7:30-4:30
The lab manager would be responsible for key operational activities needed to support the team of scientists working in the lab.
The key lab duties and requirements we anticipate are as follows:
Laboratory Manager key duties:
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the efficient and effective operation of the laboratory and associated equipment, software
Ensure that the laboratory meets all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety regulations for handling and disposing of reagents/samples
Ensure all equipment calibrated, operational and coordinate with Site Technical Operations to organize equipment repairs and maintenance
Train employees on the use of lab equipment and procedures
Coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and scientists, as it relates to scheduling lab and equipment use
Plan and oversee the laboratory's budget, including purchases of equipment, software and supplies
Coordinate and organize shipment of reagents/samples within the US and outside the US as needed
Monitor and control inventory levels of supplies and materials needed for the operation of the laboratory
Prepare reports on the activities of the laboratory as required by management or regulatory agencies
Keep abreast of new developments in the field of research and incorporate them into the lab's operations as appropriate
Skills:
2-3 years of experience in laboratory management and/or operational experience in related field
Education:
Minim of a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences (biology, microbiology, genetics, immunology, ). Master's Degree preferred
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
